Meggin Sawyer joins newly formed council focused on the growing union
of telecom and IT
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 25, 2013--
ADTRAN®,
Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation
networking solutions, today announced that Meggin Sawyer, regional vice
president of service provider networks for ADTRAN, has been selected to
join the CompTIA Telecom Advisory Council (TAC). The recently
established council was formed to provide insight and guidance for the
ever-growing and evolving relationship between IT firms and channel
resellers—a space where ADTRAN continues to excel.
By joining the CompTIA TAC, Sawyer will use her vast industry experience
and knowledge to help the council’s mission of unifying telecom agents
and business partner channels. With the overall goal of connecting these
two groups with their associated business models together, Sawyer and
the council will work to understand and address the challenges facing
these channels in the marketplace.
“As enterprise customers come to expect cloud services from their
traditional network and equipment providers, it presents a unique
opportunity for both groups to build and deliver new solutions and
services these customers want and need,” said Sawyer. “I look forward to
working with both groups to help bridge the gap between these provider’s
business practices to enable them to support the Enterprise’s evolving
needs.”
“Telecom agents and their IT partners are working closer together than
ever, yet they often struggle to define their respective roles in a
converged channel,” said Annette Taber, vice president, channel
strategies, CompTIA. “The CompTIA Telecom Advisory Council was created
to help identify challenges in the telecom agent-VAR relationship and
develop strategies to address them. We’re pleased that Meggin Sawyer has
joined the council and look forward to the expertise, insights and
perspectives she will share.”
The Telecom Advisory Council is the third industry group established by
CompTIA. The first meeting at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting was
March 12-13 in Chicago.
