Increased capacity of NetVanta 4430 and NetVanta 3430 provide
scalability and flexibility to address medium and large enterprises
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 19, 2013--
ADTRAN®,
Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation
networking solutions, today announced enhancements to its popular
NetVanta series. The enterprise Session Border Control (eSBC) Feature
Pack has been added to its NetVanta® 4430 series, and the
session capabilities of the NetVanta 3430 have been doubled. This
application was designed specifically to address the need of service
providers to monitor and manage their growing demand for SIP Trunking
services. Because each NetVanta platform provides a single device that
can support both data routing and SIP Trunking Services, either is a
perfect solution for medium and large enterprises.
“SIP Trunking is a rapidly growing service type for Charter, and having
the ability to scale our offering quickly and easily is an advantage,”
said Pete Hicks, senior director, product management, Charter Business.
“ADTRAN’s eSBCs provide an easy-to-manage demarcation device that
handles the normalization, security and monitoring of our rapidly
growing SIP Trunking service offering.”
The NetVanta 4430 with eSBC Feature Pack can support up to 300 sessions
while the NetVanta 3430 can now support up to 100 sessions. The
expansion of the product’s eSBC capabilities was in direct response to
carrier demand for an efficient product set that could be used to
manage, maintain and grow SIP Trunking services across a network
footprint. This new capability, combined with the ability to field
upgrade ADTRAN’s market leading IP Business Gateways with eSBC
functionality, allows ADTRAN’s existing carrier customers to quickly tap
into the rapidly growing SIP Trunking market.
“The ability to remotely software upgrade our industry leading installed
base of IPBG’s and access routers provides tremendous value to our
service provider customers. It delivers a compelling and cost-effective
transition path to newer services without the need to replace equipment
already installed in the network,” said Chris Thompson, ADTRAN’s
director of product management, Cloud Connectivity Solutions. “Our
customers rely on us for technology to drive network efficiency and to
open up new paths for service and revenue growth. The expansion of eSBC
capability, in terms of capacity and across the product line, is a prime
example of our ability and commitment to help providers achieve these
goals.”
