Global broadband solutions leader demonstrates continued commitment
to quality with TL9000 certification for European facilities and ETSI
product portfolio
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 2, 2014--
ADTRAN®,
Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation
networking solutions, today announced the expansion of its TL 9000
Certification across facilities and European Telecommunications
Standards Institute (ETSI) product categories. The TL 9000 Quality
Management System (QMS) standardization has now been achieved for four
design and operations locations in Germany, as well as the hiX 5600
product portfolio and the Access Integrator Ethernet (ACI-E) service
management platform. ADTRAN has also been recognized with
recertification for sixteen current product categories from its
Enterprise and Carrier Networks divisions.
With accelerated growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
market, ADTRAN took steps to ensure that its processes and products
serving regions around the globe meet the same high quality requirements
for design, development, production, delivery and service across
ADTRAN’s entire solution portfolios. The addition of the German
facilities in Berlin, Munich, Bruchsal and Greifswald brings the total
to nine global operations centers that have successfully been certified
as part of ADTRAN’s multi-site registration.
“The TL 9000 certification recognizes the best of industry vendors in
terms of overall hardware, software and services quality. The systematic
and repeatable framework at the foundation of the certification is
instrumental for companies as they look to increase global productivity,
optimize resources, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction,”
said Fraser Pajak, CEO of QuEST. “For vendors such as ADTRAN, expanding
the certification showcases its innovation and dedication to ensuring a
high standard of quality for its products and services. With the
certification, ADTRAN customers can rest assured knowing the company is
taking the necessary steps to meet their demands for satisfaction and
performance.”
“As one of the world’s leading broadband solutions suppliers, we view
our commitment to quality to all of our customers as our first
priority,” said Dr. Eduard Scheiterer, managing director of ADTRAN GmbH.
“The expansion of the TL9000 certification to include our EMEA focused
products and processes, as well as the recertification of our existing
TL9000 Management system, gives our partners and suppliers the assurance
of top-quality hardware, software and services.”
Developed in 1998 by the Quality of Excellence for Suppliers of
Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum, TL 9000 is a QMS built on an ISO
9001:2008 standard, the only standard in its family that is
qualified to setting the criteria for the processes, procedures and
tools that make up various certifications, and eight quality principles.
Building on the ISO standard, the TL 9000 standard includes supplemental
requirements, including performance measurements based on the product
reliability, software development life-cycle management, requirements
for specialized service functions, requirements to address communication
between network operators and suppliers, as well as reporting of quality
measurement data to a central warehouse. The resulting two-part system
contains management and measurement components, including
telecom-specific requirements on all registrations, hardware and
software, service registrations and measurements that apply in all
product categories and apply in certain product categories specific to
hardware, software and/or services.
